Making a guitar from a tissue box, rubber bands, cardboard and, of course, duct tape isn’t that much of a challenge. The challenge was getting our son to use the basics of scientific method and write his results.
This was a great school project. Marie and I encouraged him to explore the instruments before he made a choice. He went with guitar.
As I was explaining to him how important it was to write his work and find solutions with proven theories, we heard the Big Bang Theory on in the other room. I rewound the clip and played it. It was Sheldon saying, “I don’t guess. As a scientist I reach conclusions based on observation and experimentation.”
Sheldon got through where I didn’t.
